Wood Flooring Restoration Service
We renovate all hard and soft-wood floors, including parquet flooring. Using specialist machinery featuring the latest dust-free technology, we ensure a smooth finish on even the most demanding floor. We then seal using oil-based products, durable lacquers or, if preferred, floors can be stained, painted then sealed. All necessary repairs or replacement sections can be assessed and included as required.
Stone Floor Restoration
New or old, natural or man-made, all stone floors need care to keep them at their best.
We are stone floor specialists and can clean, restore and repair every type of natural stone and man-made tile, from limestone, marble, granite or slate through to travertine, terrazzo, terracotta and ceramic.
However badly stained and neglected your floor is, we can restore it to its former glory.
We will strip off old sealant, and if necessary, diamond-grind back the stone to reveal a fresh layer (subject to severity and stone type), deep clean to remove dirt and stains, and reseal to your specified finish.
We can also make any necessary repairs and replacements, doing our best to match to the existing floor.
This service also extends to building exteriors, such as stone entrance steps, facades, pillars, etc.
Granwood Floor Restoration
Granwood floors have been used in sports halls for the last 100 years, but still give good service if looked after properly. Granwood flooring is a tiled block flooring composite of wood fibres, fillers and linseed oil. The size of the blocks is 174 x 57 x 10 mm thick, normally laid in baskets of three blocks.
Sports Floor Restoration
There are many other types of sports-hall surfaces, from sprung solid-wood floors to rubber and vinyl floors. Any of these installations can be restored and repaired subject to assessment. We can also replace damaged floor sections including sports line-marking in accordance with Sport England.
If a floor is beyond repair and cannot be restored, we can replace it like-for-like through our Supply and Fit division.
Most pre-made sports floors already have a protective layer built into the product, but still need to be cleaned and maintained, whereas most wood floors will need to have product applied to protect the finish. We can maintain any of these surfaces as required.
Industrial Floor Renovation
Industrial floors are generally coated with a two-part epoxy resin paint over a power-floated concrete floor, or a sand and cement screed.
With daily heavy use by forklift trucks such as in distribution centres, floors can crack and break at point of loading.
Repairs are often needed. Old paint is removed by shot blasting, then the floor is primed and repainted using appropriate products.
Floor Maintenance & After Care
Following restoration or a new installation of commercial or domestic flooring, proper maintenance must be implemented to ensure a good appearance and maximise life expectancy, using products specific to the floor's finish.
GNC offer tailored maintenance schedules and advice to all our customers, including contract services to provide and assist in-house staff with the correct after-care for your floor. This is highly recommended for continued good performance of the floor and to prolong its productive life.
We also provide a consultancy service on post-installation floor care, cleaning and maintenance, should training be required for existing staff in-house.
